*BEFORE ANYTHING, ensure your safety by unplugging your key cutting machine before proceeding with any maintenance tasks.
After moderate to heavy use of your cutting machine, it's recommended to replace the cutting wheel on your key cutting machine to prolong its effectiveness.
You’d have to replace the cutting wheel with 2 (Mastercraft recommended) adjustable wrenches used in the video - 6 inches long (anything similar works too). The wheel is also reverse weave meaning it will automatically tighten by itself over time / use (but it's still recommended to use the wrench to tighten it by rotating it downwards after holding the left side).
When should you replace your key cutting machine wheel?
You should replace the wheel when it gets loud when cutting, or when you notice the cut isn’t exact or is dull and the key copy doesn’t work smoothly. Any questions let us know!
